G Ettinger Ltd. is a British company, based in London and specialising in luxury leather goods. Founded in 1934 by Gerard Ettinger, an emigrant of German origin, the eponymous firm is still a family-owned and run company.[1]
The company designs and traditionally manufactures small leather goods for a number of British and international brands and retailers. It has also developed its own brand (Ettinger), which is distributed internationally, especially in Japan.[2][3]
The company has its own leather factory in Walsall, but has kept its head office in London.
G Ettinger Ltd was awarded a Royal Warrant to HRH The Prince of Wales in 1996 and has also made gifts under licence for the Wimbledon Championships since 1992.[4]

Ettinger started off in the 1930s by importing leather goods and luxury gifts from continental Europe into the United Kingdom. At that time, London still had an important leather industry and it was in London that the finest leather goods were made.[5][6][7][8][9]
From the 50s to the 80s, Ettinger gradually strengthened its manufacturing base in London and then in Walsall, still under the helm of "Gerry" Ettinger.
Robert Ettinger, Gerry's eldest son, took over in 1990. The company specialised further into upmarket small leather goods and developed the Ettinger brand, notably in Japan.
As one of the last leather goods manufacturers in Great Britain, the company is taking an active role in promoting crafstmanship and craft tutoring in the UK.[10][11]
Throughout the years, Ettinger has worked for many British brands, making all kinds of leather goods, including Asprey, Harrods, Fortnum & Mason and Bentley.
